CV

Born in Tbilisi, Georgia in 1965, he spent his youth in constant contact with painters. He started to take an interest in drawing and painting at the age of 10. At the age of 25, Merab Surviladze became a professional painter. He participated in several group exhibitions and exhibited traditional motifs in his first solo exhibition in 1993. Since 1997 his paintings have undergone a remarkable change in his spiritual and physical conception. He has tried to create a new approach to the oriental concept of the oxidative worm. He demonstrates the mutual interdependence between nature and man, the unity of man and the universe, time and space.
He currently lives in Brussels.
